Do you prefer positive or negative news? Let's get it out of the way by starting with the negative - The Marvels, the eagerly anticipated sequel to Captain Marvel from filmmaker Nia DaCosta, was originally scheduled to arrive in theatres this July but has now been postponed until November. It will be a while before Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau, Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan, and Brie Larson's Carol Danvers appear together on the big screen. the positive news We know this because the movie's first formal poster, which is really eye-catching, has been released. Look at it here:
In fact, with the addition of their union, Captain Marvel's original tagline of "Higher. Further. Faster." has been changed to "Higher. Further. Faster. Together." This poster now represents the first time we see Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Photon (as the comics would have it) working together in some capacity. Neat! The incorporation of each hero's symbol into the poster, set against a glittering constellation of stars and an especially lovely swirl of blue, purple, and orange colors, is also impressive.
It will be more exciting to see these three characters interact as the three heroes are drawn into a shared journey than it will be to simply see them lined up on a poster. What transpired at the conclusion of Ms. Marvel to cause her to appear to have switched positions in Carol Danvers' bedroom? Is Monica Rambeau now wholly adopting a heroic persona? Will we find out more about the enigma surrounding Kamala's magic bangles? When The Marvels returns to the MCU on November 10 instead of in late July, we'll learn more.
