Hellboy is once more being rebooted by Mike Mignola and Brian Taylor of Crank.

Hellboy is once more being rebooted by Mike Mignola and Brian Taylor of Crank.

It may come as a surprise to learn that Mike Mignola and others are looking to try again given that the most recent effort to adapt Mike Mignola's Hellboy to the big screen, starring David Harbour as the title character, made a poor $55 million globally (against a $50 million budget). But it is real!

The Crooked Man, a comic book story, will be adapted for the latest movie, as was first reported by Discussing Film and later verified by Deadline. In a potentially more intriguing development, one-half of the Crank duo Neveldine/Taylor, Brian Taylor, is on board to direct. Mignola and Christopher Golden are in charge of the screenplay.

Hellboy is once more being rebooted by Mike Mignola and Brian Taylor of Crank.

Hellboy and a new BPRD agent will be stranded in 1950s rural Appalachia in the tale. They find a small witch-inhabited community there that is ruled by the Crooked Man, a local devil with a troubling link to Hellboy's past.

According to the comic, The Crooked Man was Jeremiah Witkins, a miser and war profiteer from the eighteenth century who was hanged for his offenses but later emerged from Hell as the local Devil.

Although no one has yet revealed who will play Hellboy, filming is set to begin in Bulgaria the following month.

The last one's creator, Millennium Films, is hoping that this new one will eventually start a franchise.

According to Jeffrey Greenstein, president of Millennium Media, "The Crooked Man is a departure from all previous Hellboy films where Mike Mignola, the creator of the comics, will finally shepherd an authentic version of his tales and characters in film form." "This is the first of a sequence of movies that will enthrall viewers in both expected and unexpected ways. As a multifaceted expert, Brian Taylor is the ideal choice to bring this tale to life and present our viewers with this unique and original Hellboy film series."

Despite everything, we still find ourselves wondering why no one has jumped at the chance to see Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro complete his own series.

Joining Marvels Thunderbolts is Steven Yeun

Steven Yeun has devoted himself to a variety of endeavors since finishing his tenure on The Walking Dead, including Nope and Minari, for which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor. Yeun will reportedly join the Thunderbolts cast, according to Deadline. We assume it was only a matter of time before the great casting maw of Marvel came to call.

Nobody will be shocked to find that Yeun's part is being kept largely under wraps, even though the site's article notes that he is important in this movie and seems certain to return in further installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Lord of the Rings new movies are in the planning at Warner Bros.

Lord of the Rings new movies are in the planning at Warner Bros.

After everything was said and done, Warner Bros. earned more than $6 billion from Peter Jackson's two trilogies based on JRR Tolkien's writing. Hence, it may not come as a huge surprise to learn that parent company Warner Bros. Discovery has struck a pact to produce new motion pictures.

These next movies will not be part of The Lord of the Rings: The Battle of the Rohirrim, the animated account of the famed House of Helm Hammerhand in Rohan. On April 12, 2019, that one is already scheduled to hit the big screen.

Lord of the Rings new movies are in the planning at Warner Bros.

There are obviously no indications as to where the new films might draw from, but we'd hope the studio doesn't attempt to tread the same old territory. The news was just announced by WBD CEO David Zaslav during an investors' call. (The Second Age is probably off-limits as a result of the high-budget TV shows on Prime Video.)

There is no word yet on whether Philippa Boyens, Fran Walsh, or Jackson will participate, but they have stated that Warner Brothers and Embracer "have kept us in the loop every step of the road." We are forward to talking with them further and learning about their future plans for the business.

In a Boy Band Comedy, Ryan Reynolds is coming

In a Boy Band Comedy, Ryan Reynolds is coming

Ryan Reynolds is still working on other projects despite getting ready to play Deadpool once more, filming numerous commercials for the businesses he owns, and watching Wrexham play soccer. He has scheduled Boy Band, a brand-new comedy, at Paramount.

Reynolds will appear in and produce the film, which he also co-wrote with Jesse Andrews of Me And Earl And The Dying Girl, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The idea, which is currently under wraps, would center on a boy band reforming and be proposed by Reynolds.

In a Boy Band Comedy, Ryan Reynolds is coming

After Free Man, The Adam Project, and Deadpool 3, director/producer Shawn Levy has started working with Reynolds frequently. Deadpool 3 is set to begin filming in London this spring.

Levy might end up helming Boy Band, but that will largely rely on his schedule, which will be occupied for the time being with Deadpool work.

Whatever it turns out to be, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, one of the best sitcoms ever made, will be a fierce competitor.

James Gunn believes his Guardians of the Galaxy cast could join him at DC. I will work with all of those people on an individual basis again.

James Gunn believes his Guardians of the Galaxy cast could join him at DC. I will work with all of those people on an individual basis again.

At the occasion, James Gunn is wearing two hats – and by any standard, they’re particularly wide-brimmed ones. Towards the finish of 2022, he was confirmed to be running the newly-reorganized DC Films alongside Peter Safran, cooking up an entirely different slate for the comics giant. Yet, before that really kicks into gear, he has the small matter of finishing up his hotly anticipated threequel, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 – a film that looks set to wrap into his near-decade of creating cosmic comic book movies at Marvel.

James Gunn believes his Guardians of the Galaxy cast could join him at DC. I will work with all of those people on an individual basis again.

Speaking to Empire in the Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania issue, Gunn describes the final stretch of Guardians Vol. 3 as “my day job” – while the early stages of planning a new batch of comic book movies at DC Studios is, for now, “an extremely healthy part-time work that’s at least another 40 to 60 hours a week”. Closing out Vol. 3 will destroy an era for the writer-director – and while that brings bittersweetness, it appears Gunn is confident that his time working with the cast who rejuvenated Marvel’s intergalactic A-openings isn’t over. “This cast is like my family,” he says. “I cannot perceive you that I am so near Chris Pratt and Pom [Klementieff] and Dave [Bautista] and Zoe [Saldaña] and Karen [Gillan]. Yet, I also realize I will work again with all those people individually again.” He adds, laughing: “Probably at my other job.”

For now, Gunn has several months left before Guardians Vol. 3 wraps up the story of Peter Quill and co – and it’s as of now obscure exactly when his DC slate will be unveiled. Either way, it’s going to be an especially significant year for comic book cinema, on both sides.

The Dungeons & Dragons Honour Among Thieves Trailer Reveals An Exciting New Campaign

The Dungeons & Dragons Honour Among Thieves Trailer Reveals An Exciting New Campaign

Roll the dice and come forward, D&D heads a new cinematic campaign that is about to unfurl in Dungeons & Dragons Honor Among Thieves, and as the previous trailer hinted, it’s looking like it’s a lot of tomfooleries.

The new trailer continues that vibe, promising an action parody packed with creatures straight out of the pretending game, with an appropriate game cast, and a visual flair for sure. Keep in mind, if the prospect of a D&D movie has you wanting to cast hellfire on all involved, this one comes from writer-directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, aka the pair behind Game Night, so there’s some serious pedigree here. Watch the thrilling new trailer.

The Dungeons & Dragons Honour Among Thieves Trailer Reveals An Exciting New Campaign

Looks like a psychic scream, right? (In a decent way.) Honor Among Thieves assembles a tomfoolery party of players, with Chris Pine playing Edgin the Bard, Michelle Rodriguez kicking ass as Holga the Barbarian, and other participants including Regé- Jean Page, Justice Smith (here revealed to wear a British accent, for some reason), Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Actual Grant – the latter of whom is by all accounts continuing his run of having as much fun as possible before the camera.

Good for him! And the trailer itself gives a little bit of plot (our legends were accidentally complicit in handing a seriously scary MacGuffin to some unacceptable individual, and presently have to put it right), more Owlbear action, stone dragons, spells galore, and a trip into the, erm, orifice. Who’s going first?

Fingers crossed this one demonstrates effectiveness in bringing sorcery to the cinema screen – after all the D&D homages of Stranger Things and Onward as of late, it seems like the right time to summon the real deal. Who’s got the d20? Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves comes to UK cinemas on 31 March.

Before long, the team is fighting for their lives… and the fate of the world is at stake.
