Pedro Pascal is a badass on The Last Of Us and has been playing a successful warrior on The Mandalorian (at least with the aid of stunt doubles), but we have to admit that the thought of him becoming a part of the Gladiator sequel worries us. Does nobody recall what transpired the last time he entered a combat zone? Fans of Game of Thrones undoubtedly do. Nevertheless, Ridley Scott is willing to take a significant risk for his upcoming project because it holds such allure.
This is just the most recent casting for the sequel to Scott's historical epic from 2000, which is picking up steam with the addition of Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, and returning cast member Connie Nielsen as Lucilla.
The plot is advanced in time by David Scarpa's script to follow Lucius, Lucilla's son, as he deals with difficult Roman senators and emperors (including one who seems to be doing the wrong thing, played by Keoghan).
Scott is getting ready to shoot the new movie, and Paramount has scheduled its release for November 22, 2024.
